Let’s Look at Some of the Current Problems

Listening to both Farmers & Manufacturers, it became clear that most of the current disc seeders that use hydraulic cylinders for ground downforce in conjunction with accumulators will face some or all of the following problems

  • Inability for downforce cylinders to extend or retract whilst maintaining constant downforce pressure due to large pressure fluctuations in accumulator function
  • Variable downforce due to pressure fluctuations leading to varying seed depth
  • No provision to program proportional controller without specialised electronic equipment and/or technician
  • Tractor remote leakage, causing large pressure fluctuations
  • Accumulator pre-charge required to be adjusted to achieve optimal pressure operating range

With these factors in play with your current system, your seeding becomes much less accurate producing an inconsistent yield due to seeding depths not being constant

The Effective Solution - No Accumulators Required*

HydPower has developed an innovative Disc Seeder Constant Pressure system to significantly improve the performance of hydraulically operated agricultural disc seeders without the need for expensive accumulators.

This new design and technology provides infinitely variable constant pressure to the disc roller cylinders via an intelligent manifold used in conjunction with an in-cab proportional controller featuring an LED pressure display, showing set pressure or scaled from 0-100% without the need for a pressure transducer.

The system provides constant force by utilising pressure reducing & relieving valving, which enables the cylinder to continuously move dynamically in both directions to follow the contours of the ground, without the need to continuously check & adjust the valve in the cab.

For peace of mind, there is a manually adjustable control valve to back up the electronics when working in the field.

Choosing the Correct Product

To help you select the most appropriate manifold size & options, we recommend that you follow the process steps below:

STEP ONE: Is to identify the number of cylinders used on your Disc Seeder so that you have the correct flow rate. If your machine has been 0-40 cylinders then our 60 litre per minute products will be sufficient. If however, your machine is using more than 40 cylinders, then our 120 litre per minute products will be required. See below in the blue section

STEP TWO: This step is for you is to establish the type of cylinders you are using. There are 2 types that apply. However, sometimes both types are used on the machine. See below in the green section.

STEP THREE: Is about choosing your connection point. There are 3 options below in the orange section

STEP FOUR: Your final choices are around the main functionality that you want from the system. See last section below

The In Cab Proportional Controller

The PVC-1000-11A is an easy to use proportional valve controller containing a PWM driver, LED display, Control knob (10k pot) and ON/OFF Power switch. The HydPower driver inside, allows it to be used to vary the current to a proportional valve solenoid coil, which in turn will control pressure or flow from the valve. This intelligent unit can be wired to a 9-36V DC power supply and instantly set & read control pressure or flow from a remote location using cables. The primary benefit is to control, set & monitor proportional valves without the need for pressure or flow transducers or any electronic meters using the inbuilt LED display

Additionally, the built in LED display can be used to show an array of parameters including – command signal, min + max solenoid current, ramp up/down, dither or scaled value in pressure or percentage of solenoid current.

It can also be used as a diagnostic tool using the digital display
