Hydraulic Cylinders

A hydraulic cylinder is a mechanical actuator that is used to give a undirectional force through a undirectional stroke. It has many applications, notably in agricultural, construction, bulk handling, and industrial equipment, manufacturing machinery and civil engineering.

Hydraulic cylinders get their power from pressurised hydraulic fluid, which is typically oil. The hydraulic cylinder consists of a cylinder barrel, in which a piston connected to a piston rod moves back and forth. The barrel is closed on one end by the cylinder bottom (also called the cap) and the other end by the cylinder head (also called the gland) where the piston rod comes out of the cylinder. The piston has sliding rings and seals. The piston divides the inside of the cylinder into two chambers, the bottom chamber (cap end) and the piston rod side chamber (rod end / head end).

Standard Features Include:
  • Cylinder barrels are precision honed to provide long seal life
  • Rods are chrome plated & polished for long wear life and for protection from external damage & corrosion
  • Rod wipers clean dirt & foreign matter from the rod to ensure durability
  • SAE straight thread O-ring ports
  • 100% Australian made
  • Improved clevis profile
  • Encapsulated piston means no leakage
  • Chamfered rod
Optional Features Include:
  • Rods are chrome plated & polished for long wear life and for protection from external damage & corrosion
  • Pineye or single lug rod end mounting
  • Top link
  • Hardened steel pins & bushings
  • Self aligning spherical bushings
  • Grease fittings
